Today's post is a little different, we are going to deal with your ATTITUDE. Just like a dead body our attitude towards people and situations in life can leave a resounding stench, which can linger for a life time.
On day I encountered a person, who every time they spoke to me would cover their mouth with their scarf, I spend the first few seconds of the conversation wondering why. However when the scarf slightly slipped, my nose and I had the answer!
Her Breath was bad!!!
Fortunately for me she recognised this, though I have encountered many who have not noticed their 'Spiritual Bad Breath'. How many times have you encountered someone who has a bad attitude, and doesn't recognize how it makes their life stink. No matter how many breath mints they use,(i.e, fake compliments, fake smiles...ect) nothing removes the stench. All that they really need is to BRUSH THEIR TEETH!
Not only does bad attitudes coupled with Fake compliments and Fake sincerity equal a smelly life, also negative outlooks have the same effect on ones life. A person who only thinks of the negative in life or in situations, has a bad smell lingering also. Their lives reflect their pessimistic lives, they achieve what is below average and they think that its normal, so don't ever deal with it.
Ask yourself this- Do you or someone you know have Bad breath??
Brush your teeth by recognising your bad breath and put into practise this Word;
'And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.'
John 14:13
Ask Him to change you, He can. You've just got to recognise.
I couldn't help but laugh when I started reading this, but that laugh turned to revolt, as it made me think how, our spiritual lives can smell horrible because of our bad attitudes. This sense actually spoke to me the loudness because its something that needs allot of care, just like our teeth.
