Girl... Rahab inspires me because...

Of her Surrender...
She was a woman with a past to whom God gave a future.

A prostitute, marriage breaker, spinster, any many more names must have been given to this woman. Rahab, charmed men from all over her nation, she was known....

...However, what amazes me about this woman is that with all the money lavished on her by her customers and all the recognition that she had( thought negative) she recognised that none of that could save her. She not only did she recognise this, but she was willing to surrender her life to the cause of a God that she had only heard about. She risked her life, with no assurance but the word of a spy that her and her family would be spared from the terror that was going to fall upon Jericho.

Now lets bring this to our days, how hard is it for us to surrender the baggage which we hold onto. The thoughts of inferiority, the feelings of pride, of fear to make a difference. Would you risk loosing your baggage to surrender to God? A God which you have heard, has parted the sea of complexes for His people to walk on the dry land of confidence.

It is so easy to that you trust God, But are you willing to give Him, something that you are so used to. Don't forget Rahab was not only surrendering her life, but also her, lifestyle, her people all that she had ever known all of her life, to a God that she hadn't known.

"...Blessed arethose who have not seen and yet have believed.”
John 20:29

  1. Rehab did have a bad reputation, but her surrender to God, outweighed all her past. She gave everything she had and in returned her and her family were spared. Sometimes we hold on to that thing in our lives, and fail to understand, that that's the thing we need let go in order to get the best from God; and not only materialistic thing but the salvation of our soul.

Rehab reminds me alot about of that person who may seem like the worst person in the entire world, but before the eyes of God he/she is much loved because of her true surrender. She trust, believed and was willing to do His will.

For me this has highlighted hoe much God loves when we do His will.

  2. We have everything we need, The Holy Spirit, the Word of God, the Name of Jesus but still doubt? it is us who delay God's blessings in our lives, not Him.
